Alcestis Ascending
This project was done with the company, HavanaBama, which is a research project that began in 2007. For this production the actors performing the original play written by Seth Panitch are from America as well as Cuba. The play premiered at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL then moved on to the Clurman Theatre in NYC and ended it's journey at the Raquel Reveuelta Theatre in Havana, Cuba.
The play, an adaptation of the Greek playwright Euripides' drama "Alcestis," that incorporates rock music and dance, was written by Seth Panitch.

Many of the costumes for this production were designed with the movement in mind. Cerberus, the three headed dog, consisted of three different performers moving as one creature. The harnesses easily detached from their base costume and could be interchanged between the actors depending on evolving choreography.
